Can Trent Edwards and The Buffalo Bills Compete in the Strong AFC East?
The Buffalo Bills are an interesting team. With so much attention being focused on the New England Patriots and the new and improved New York Jets (not to mention the defending AFC East champion Miami Dolphins – oh yeah, remember them?), the Buffalo Bills are being overlooked.
After a tough battle in New England that almost brought them a win and a strong victory at home against Tampa Bay, maybe that should change and they shouldn’t be overlooked.
Trent Edwards looks like a new QB on the field this season. Having had two very effective games for the Bills so far, Edwards has been very efficient in the pocket and is taking full advantage of his new weapons.
The Bills play in one of the toughest divisions in football, the AFC East. The New York Jets are off to a fast start and the New England Patriots have Tom Brady.
If the Buffalos Bills are going to make any noise they must be more consistent on offense. As of now, they are in the lower half of the league in total yards and passing yards.
The running game remains solid and their defense should continue to improve as the season moves forward.
If the Bills hope to compete in the AFC east at all they will need to beat the Kansas City Chiefs and Jacksonville Jaguars of the league to even have a chance. The fans have waited a long time in Buffalo for a winner – if not now, then when?
The Bills showed they can compete with the top teams in the league like the New England Patriots – but will the Bills have the discipline and know-how to do so over a 16 game schedule?
