Coaching soccer drills

Before you get on with coaching soccer drills to kids, let me share with you some teaching ideas that are sure to help you, whether you agree or not. Let’s say that the soccer practice has one broad goal for both the coach and the player and it is to have fun while participating in the practice sessions.

Herein, you must remain careful otherwise you’ll not be able to follow the fun part. So, it is suggested that more specific objectives are decided upon that benefit not only the team but also the coach. For instance; constantly remind the players to remain physically fit, develop them into sporting players with a positive attitude towards the game, and concentrating on skills unique to them.

When it comes to sportsmanship, the onus lies on you to set a high standard for the players. Cheer them to have an attitude of fair play, sportsmanship, and team spirit. When teaching soccer, you have the option to include any number of relevant objectives along with the ones stated above.

One more concept that needs to be highlighted in youth soccer coaching is the notion of winning the match. Infuse an open concept of winning in your player’s minds when you are coaching them. Make them understand that so long as their play is up to the mark, they are the winners, irrespective of the final outcome.

Soccer Coaching

It has the effect of encouraging the players to give it their best shot and play the game without unnecessary pressure to win anyways.

Coaching soccer drills requires you to give clear and precise instructions to your team so that they get the desired results. Before coaching, you need to teach your players about some explicit do’s and don’ts in soccer. The disparity between coaching and teaching is obvious in the fact that coaching deals with the bunch of players who already know the game to some extent.

In the process of coaching drills, it is nice to first impart 5 to 6 demonstrations about a drill to the kids and then let them practice it themselves. It is effective because young players are more receptive to seeing than listening. If you decide to give them plain instructions, they will not appreciate it very much. Instead, they take demonstrations more enthusiastically.

Hence, make it an imperative exercise to give a demonstration at every possible opportunity.

Finally, but still very important is your ability to keep the kids engaged in important activities. This becomes even more important when the weather is windy, wet, or cold. It’s a fact that all kids love to play in the rain. So, instead of revoking the session, it makes more sense to find alternative ways to let them have fun.

Ensure that in situations like these, the kids are wearing proper soccer gear as well as additional protection.

Go ahead and make these tips a part of your plan. You’ll be amazed to see the results.

Now is the time for businesses to take a considered look at their requirements in terms of how much electrical energy they need to secure from their utility supplier to see them through the next few years. This is particularly true in high-end computing environments where business is expanding and applications growing at unprecedented rates. In these environments, managers may feel secure now but may find themselves in a difficult situation in 2012 if they have to approach their utility provider and ask for another 1MV of electrical capacity a week before the Olympic build up!

If businesses know or can predict that they themselves will be busier for the duration of the games, perhaps hiring in additional capacity, uninterruptible power protection and onsite generation to cover them for that period could be a wise move.

As one of only two sliding tracks in Canada, the Whistler Sliding Centre track will be a major asset after the 2010 Olympics to the improvement and development of high performance sliding sports in Canada.

Small businesses and those further away from the action (outside London) are not immune either. In many cases, the further they are away from the main electrical distribution hub the less reliable their supply will be (and the more prone to power problems as described earlier). If electrical supplies are strained in built up and urban areas, you can bet your life they will be more so in rural areas and further a field.

The only way of securing electrical supply during the 2012 Olympic Games is to ensure adequate, effective and properly planned power protection strategy with the implementation of uninterruptible power supplies and onsite, independent generation You can be published without charge. Let’s get one matter out of the picture: women are hitting the gyms and fitness classes. As the number of women that train goes up there is more and  more involvement on the deviations in training principles between men and women. The problem is, there are also deviations between men  and women’s aims. Which directs me to the the coming question: what is the divergence in the type of protein supplement a female athlete utilizes versus a male athlete?

Whereas nearly all men want to add muscle mass women’s destinations ordinarily revolve around health, loosing weight and a sleek body. One thing that is very assuring is that your body will not pile on muscle in the same way that a man does (very hardy exercising with weight included). The fact that they might get muscular actually prevents some women away from working out. Much less using a protein supplement.

Remain at ease.. With the exception of EXTREME measures, women never get big muscular arms and never loose any of their femininity through weight training.

Taking into account this difference of goals we might ask: how does this touch the selection of a protein supplement?

A rare case in nutrition, but a pleasant one, is the fact that: No, there is no requirement for gender specificity when it comes to this issue. However, there are some other factors that must be taken into consideration, in this instance I am talking about lectin intolerance. This article is not concerned with this issue, so if you want to learn more about how your blood type shapes the selection of the best protein supplement, click here: TheBestProteinSupplement.com

A friendly side note, there is a family of individuals who propose that the selection of a protein powder must take taste into consideration. My opinion is that taste is one of the lowest factors in importance that you should consider when picking out your protein powder. This is due to the fact that this taste usually comes at a price to your health and your fitness goals.

Why am I saying this? Due to the fact that products that sell themselves through great taste are commonly no more than candy in disguise. You actually are doing yourself factual damage. After you put in the strenuous work at a gym, fitness class or wherever, why would you want to go against yourself in this way.

Constantly keep in mind that YES, you should compensate yourself for doing anything that you don’t necessarily feel like doing. Do get yourself a small something every time you do a workout. But I am cautioning you not to employ treats for this. Sure, you don’t have to use a protein supplement that is nasty tasting, but you know what. There are many nice one’s out there that taste ok and don’t hurt you.

Another item I want to touch besides the taste issue is the quantity of calories. You see, when they begin an exercise plan many women think it is a good idea to consume less and diminish their calories. The contrary is true, you need MORE calories in order to get lean – the right variety of calories of course. This is why a protein supplement can  be so handy, it allows you to know that you are consuming something that backs up your workout efforts.

As well, please keep in mind to mix your protein with water — not milk or juice. Milk impairs the digestion of anything eaten with it,  and adds incompatible proteins to the mix, further raising the difficulty of the digestive process. The juice on the other hand will contribute carbs that you most probably will not need– In my opinion you would not desire to lower the value of your workout routine for the sake of a smoothie.

One more time, the important things you must remember:

– the best protein supplement for men is the same for women

– do not sacrifice quality for taste

– the most important factor is the protein source, next comes amino acid profile, protein per scoop, no carbohydrates, no fat, mixability, taste.

If you were in a store and saw shelves upon shelves of protein supplements what would you do? Answer: Remain calm and click the link: best product supplement.

Youth soccer drills

I can’t say if you’ll agree with me on this but in youth soccer drills, defense is the foundation on which the game depends. When the score in a game is 0-0, it is said to be a perfectly played defensive soccer by both sides.

But, in kids soccer drills, there are two phases to winning a game. First is by exhibiting a wonderful defense. The second feature is the ability of the offensive players to rise above the other team’s defense.

Your player’s won’t be able to score if they can’t get the ball. When it comes to training, some coaches teach either defense or offense to their players. But, a player must be given complete training in both playing defense when the ball is in other person’s custody and offense when it is with him or her.

In youth soccer practice, players who let the ball go out of their possession should instantly go for the ball. This is very important and makes sense because the one who loses the ball is nearest to the ball. Therefore, it’s easy for this player to pressurize the one in the possession of the ball now.

Youth Soccer Drills

This is to say that he should attempt to get the ball back into his custody again. An added benefit is that the remaining team members would also get a chance to recover and take their defensive positions. This way the opponent player who has the ball will not be allowed a free run on the field.

You can teach the players these skills by demonstrating the following techniques.

Immediate chase: When taken care of effectively in youth soccer drills, the opposition feels a lot of pressure from all sides. And then what happens is that the opponent either makes a wrong pass or loses the possession of the ball.

Fall back and delay: This can be possible only when the remaining team members fall back, and challenge the opponent with the ball and delay him or her from getting into their team’s goal area.

As the most risky places on the field is the center, you must instruct your players to make the opponent run towards the touchline. This puts a restriction on the movement of that player to pass the ball as also the directions that he or she can travel to.

Arc of Concentration: In terms of scoring, the Arc of Concentration is the riskiest area. Maximum number of goals is scored by players in the arc of concentration. So it’s very important to teach the players in youth soccer coaching to concentrate on moving the ball outside of this area.

This arc is right ahead of the goal. It starts from one corner post of the goal right through the corner of the goal box and moving right up to the touchline. A goal is possible when the ball is in this area.

These are possibly is the easiest ways to teach your player’s game strategy and youth soccer drills in an effective manner.

It’s obvious from the name that the mountain bike was designed for riding on mountain slopes. The guys who invented them rode around on ordinary bikes, but wanted to take them offroad. Since there were no Diamondback bikes around, they had to invent the MB themselves. They didn’t have many tools to work with, but they had a lot of imagination and determination.

The bikes they had to work with at the time were nothing special. They weren’t the sleek racing bikes because those bikes had narrow tires that had no traction in the dirt. They had to start with bikes with fat tires.

They did, however, take the derailleurs off their racing bikes and make them work on their fat tired bikes. They came up with a hybrid that had both fat tires and a large range of gears. The first ones were strange looking bikes, indeed.

Next they went to work on the handlebars. They started off just sticking a flat bar of steel on the bike, because they wanted a lower profile and could really push the bike on the hills. However, they needed to lean back for traction, so they added ends to the handlebars so they could change their hand position and pull back on the handlebars when they needed to.

Once they had the basic design down, these young entrepreneurs started building bikes from scratch. They began using lighter weight materials and adding refinements to the frame design. Before long, people who saw them riding around on these cool looking bikes started asking them to build one for them.

These small time bicycle designers eventually became some of the biggest selling brands of mountain bikes. Even after the Schwinn mountain bike and others like it came on the market, these smaller bike makers continued to thrive. Today, they are still some of the best selling MBs.

All that remained to be invented was a helmet that was both cool looking and functional. A black helmet made for playing football just wasn’t right for blazing down single track mountain trails. Helmet designers went to work and now there are dozens of lightweight helmets that look good and do their job as well.

Nobody can write the mountain bike off as a passing fad anymore. They are clearly here to stay and outsell most other types of bikes. Even though they were originally designed for riding offroad, they are seen on city streets everywhere. They have come a long way and now are high tech machines with up to 24 gears and sophisticated breaking systems.

Although they haven’t had as important an impact on our lives as the PC, MBs have a similar proud history. Both of these revolutionary inventions began as backyard dreams. Thanks to great ideas and hard work, they became testaments to what great ideas and determination can accomplish.

Soccer Field Diagram

Do you remember the last time when you explained soccer formations to your team with the help of a soccer field diagram? If you answered “Never” or “Long time back”, chances are that your team knows very little about formations or positions.

A majority of coaches believe that by just giving oral instructions to the kids, they’ll know everything and this is where they go wrong. Formations should always be talked about with the players beforehand because they play an important role on the field.

The soccer positions of the players in every area from the defensive line are depicted in these by way of strategic choices made generally in terms of numbers. As a coach, you should go on interchanging the players during every single game so that the formations are not strict. One very important thing is that the formations must be chosen keeping in mind the strengths as well as weaknesses of all players.

Some commonly used formations in the game of soccer are given below:

Soccer Formations

4-4-2: This is one of the most commonly used formations. By 4-4-2 it means, four defenders, four midfielders, and two players in the attacking position without a goalkeeper.

Here, the midfielders have the most important function by supporting the forward players in defense. At the time of attack, they should move towards the goal line to support the defenders.

4-5-1: This is called a defensive formation with one forward and five mid-fielders. The advantage with this formation is that since the midfielders are stacked up in the center, the opponents have a hard time attacking.

And then because there is only 1 forward, it makes the midfielders go forward which frustrates the opposition to get the possession of the ball.

3-5-2: This formation has three defenders, five midfielders, and two forwards. This formation makes attacking as well as defending easy as 2 wingmen take up the attacking role and the center midfielder does not allow counter attacks from the opposition.

3-4-3: This is the most violent form of formation on the soccer field diagram that the players resort to when the opponents are defending. Using three defenders, four midfielders and three forwards, the plan is to attack using the forwards and make use of the defenders in case the opposition pierces the defensive line.

You cannot adopt a particular plan for the entire match. It must be in line with the changing situations in the game. So a coach must think quickly and keep rotating the players throughout. However, any formation can either be offensive or defensive.

Efficient soccer tactics regarding formations are crucial as a team’s win or lose depends on it. As the game progresses towards action, the formation should change accordingly.

Now make the best use of soccer field diagram to teach the players. If you would like more information on formations, look no further than our youth soccer coaching community that has tons of information on coaching youth soccer.

Are you an athlete that soars above the competition? High jumpers do just that- stretching their long, agile limbs across tall ropes or sticks, and reaching for new heights.  The high jump is a track and field event where competitors compete to see who can gracefully jump over the highest bar without the aid of any devices. These athletes are the epitome of form and concentration, battling to become the best in their division in a single jump. To reach their full potential, every athlete should have a winning combination of strength training and determination.  A good coach and reliable equipment also go a long way in propelling a high jump athlete to the top.

Whether you own a gym or want to practice your high jump in the off season at home, the equipment is affordable and worthwhile to have on hand.If you’re practicing your jump on a firm surface, then an gym mat, or specialized high jump mat, is a worthy investment. If you were to practice often on a hard surface, the impact absorbed by your joints and ligaments would be immense, and you could easily injure yourself.  Specialized high jump mats are also designed with a pit feature. These mats come with changeable parts, so that you’re never without a mat.  These mats are constructed from three layers of polyurethane. The top and bottom layers are solid foam, while the center is constructed like a honeycomb to maximise the absorption. The mats are coated in weather proofed, water proofed vinyl.  The vinyl makes clean up a breeze and a simple wash with warm, soapy water perfectly rinses away any accumulated dirt. The mats also come with pratical handles for easy removal and storage. You should also be certain to have a well made high jump stand to hold the high jump pole or stick. You wouldn’t want the stand to collapse at the worsee moment- in the middle of a competition!

If you’re a only begining at high jumping, or a pro, you may want to consider specialized high jump soles for your shoes. These offer more traction than your regular sports shoes to help you get better jumps. High jump competitors needs every millimeter they could get for their jumps, and those could be gained from appropriate footwear.

The best athletes are the ones that are most prepared for the task at hand.  It is easy to ensure victory when you have all the equipment necessary to obtain a flawless performance.

Soccer field diagram

When a soccer field diagram is used to teach the kids soccer formations and various positions, the job of planning and execution becomes very simple. When the kids are younger, say between 4 to 6 years in age, it is better to make them play in small sided soccer, like a 3 v 3, or a 4 v 4 without goalkeepers.

Then move to a 5 v 5 including a goalkeeper as the kids mature. There are countless benefits. This will result in kids having a lot more fun, learn the theory of the game better, and get touch the ball many times.

This is an age where the kids are only learning to pass the ball and control it. Also start training them on different soccer positions and formations. This is the time when players should be identified as forwards or defenders. Make sure that your players land at their positions in so far as possible.

With time, the number of players will someday increase with the size of the soccer field. It would then get a bit difficult to make formations. However, you must still allot the players different positions and make sure that they are honestly working on playing from those positions.

Soccer formation

When you’ve chosen the formations, you must chat about it with the players. Make them understand the concept behind it and also why you think a certain player is better suited in a single position than anyone else. For this reason, a soccer field diagram is very handy. The kids get to learn fast by looking at visual demonstrations. You’ll also find those who prefer to learn by studying the content available in print, or on the field by watching you carry out the drills.

There are some general policies and soccer tactics that should be adhered to for every soccer position such as defenders, midfielders, and forwards. These guidelines form the basis of a 2-2-2 formation in a 7 v 7 game. These instructions are very basic and you can alter them as per your line of thinking.

As an illustration, you may choose to engage 3 midfielders instead of 2. You may require your center midfielder to react aggressively on offence or you may prefer that he marks the other teams best midfielder on defense. You may want your wing defenders to take all throw-ins. There can a lot of changes.

Apart from the diagram, it is nice to put your thoughts on a piece of paper. This gives the kids an opportunity to go through the instructions at their own pace which improves their understanding a great deal. The parents can also glance through it and get to know your views and goals for the team and individual players.

In order to teach soccer positions, make it a point to make an extensive use of field diagrams in whatever you do. It’s undoubtedly the best device that has the potential to save both time and energy in explaining formations.

What are you thinking about then? Make a start and coach your players on different soccer positions and formations on the field using soccer field diagram. There is tons of valuable information about youth soccer available on our youth soccer coaching community. Join now to gain from all the benefits.
