NASCAR Illustrated, the Official Magazine of NASCAR

Started in 1947 as a family owned and operated business by Bill Frances Senior, the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, or NASCAR, is the largest sanctioning body of stock car racing in the United States. With races that are broadcast in over 150 different countries, NASCAR fans are found the world over. Here in the US, NASCAR races are the second most viewed professional sport on television, second only to the NFL. For most fans, NASCAR isn’t just something they enjoy, but a lifestyle that includes everything from yearly family trips to the Sprint Cup, to t-shirt collections, to lifetime subscriptions to NASCAR magazine.

Published twelve times a year, the official magazine of NASCAR is a whole lot more than just a racing magazine. Included are profiles and interviews with drivers, crew chiefs, and other big time names in NASCAR, which lets fans get to know these people more personally, from their homes and hobbies, to their dreams and goals, to the names of their pets. NASCAR magazine is also famous for amazing photography that puts the fan right in the center of the action. In 2004 it was given the photo journalism prize by the Miller Lite Motorsports Journalism Awards of Excellence program, and has been honored by the National Motorsports Press Association six different times since 2002.

NASCAR fans of all ages subscribe to and enjoy the magazine, with a circulation of 112,054 according to their website. NASCAR magazine doesn’t just appeal to the stereotypical fan – young, single men – but to everyone who loves NASCAR, from grandmas and grandpas to kids of all ages. In fact, the magazine’s website reports that 64% of its subscribers are married, and that each magazine has an average of six readers, proving that NASCAR is a sport that anyone can enjoy, male and female, old and young alike.

The best way to subscribe is by ordering through the magazine’s website, which will assure you quicker delivery of your first issue. NASCAR magazine subscribers who have written reviews on Amazon also suggest subscribing though the post card inserts in the magazine, because they offer cheaper subscription rates.
