No Price Change for New Mexico Bowl Tickets

The fourth annual New Mexico bowl, played in Albuquerque, New Mexico, will once again feature some stellar college bowl action. Pitting teams from the Mountain West Conference against the Western Athletic Conference, the NCAA sanctioned New Mexico Bowl is young but steeped in regional affectations. Played on the campus of the University of New Mexico, the bowl game is one a handful run by ESPN.

Part of the regional culture is infused into the bowl game trophy, which is fashioned of regional Zia Pueblo Pottery. The Zia symbol is easily recognizable as indigenous to New Mexico and is painted alongside the New Mexico Bowl logo and the logos for the competing teams and players.

The New Mexico flag shares the Zia symbol with the New Mexico Bowl trophy, the symbol is incorporated into the bowl logo. The trophies for Most Valuable Player also represent the culture of the region as traditional leather shields.

The first ever New Mexico Bowl took place in 2006 and pitted hometown New Mexico against San Jose State, in a game which San Jose State emerged as the victor, 20-12. New Mexico returned to the bowl a year later to take on Nevada, and this time won the game 23-0. In 2008, Colorado State attended the bowl to defeat Fresno State.

Tickets are available now for the New Mexico Bowl and prices have been kept the same to accommodate as many fans as possible once the competing teams are determined. This is likely a wise choice, with the economic conditions limiting fans access, and despite many sporting event trying to raise prices, the New Mexico Bowl wants to allow as many fans as possible to attend the game.
