SeaDoo Covers Keep Your PWCs Like New

I am a huge pwc enthusiast, so every chance I get I want to let other pwc owners know that if you are skimping on your choice of seadoo covers, then you are doing a dis-service to your pride and joy, and will inevitably shorten the the lifespan of your water craft in more ways than one. In addition to potential functional damage caused by exposure to the elements, you will also allow cosmetic damage to your pwc as well.

Making sure you use some sort of cover to protect your pwc is one part of keeping your seadoo in the best shape possible for as long as possible; but the other part of keeping your watercraft in great shape is making sure that you properly prepare your pwc before putting it away for any length of time. Periodic maintenance will keep things running smoothly, but you need to pay special attention to fixing problems and preparing your seadoo for storage in order to keep it looking and running like brand new.

Make sure the spark plugs are cleaned and change the oil. There is nothing worse for your pwc then sitting all winter with a grimy engine. Make sure the seats and dash are clean and dry. You may want to put some protective Armour All on the dash or another specific seadoo rubber protection compound. Make sure the dials are clean and dry. If you notice a water bubble in a dial now is the time to fix that problem. Your local marina will be able to pop the dial out, dry it off and re-seal it.

When you are trying to choose a seadoo cover that will properly protect your pwc, it’s important to consider the conditions you’ll be storing. If you have the unfortunate luck to have to store your machine outside, then you will want to be extra careful in the cover you choose and how your machine is prepared. In this case, you may opt for a full wrap rather than a cover, since this will offer the maximum protection, although it is not re-usable.

If you intend to store your seadoo in a storage facility or in your garage then a fair weather cover will suffice. Fair weather covers are just like the cover you would use to protect your seadoo will on a trailer or to protect your seadoo from the sun and rain.

I like to choose a cover that matches my seadoo. If I have customized detailing on the engine then I like to have similar customized detailing on my seadoo cover. If I have a recreational seadoo that I leave at the cottage I’m less fussy. However I can tell you, throughout all my years owning personal watercraft, I have never owned one without having some type of cover for it.

If you respect your passion for seadoos then you need to treat your machines with respect. Choose a seadoo cover that is right for your needs and you will not regret it.
